Armature, made by Armature Technologies (“we”), turns your questions, documents and links into narrated explainer videos. This page explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, and how to delete it. Armature is in an invite-only beta, so this policy may change; if it changes in a way that matters, we’ll tell you by email.
What we collect
- Waitlist sign-ups. If you join the waitlist on this site, we keep your email address, the country your request came from, the page that referred you, and your browser type.
- Account details. Your email address, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password if you sign up with email. If you use “Continue with Google”, we receive only your email address from Google — not your contacts, files or anything else.
- What you ask Armature to explain. The text you type, documents you attach (for example PDFs), and the web links you give us, including the text and images we read from those pages.
- What Armature makes for you. The lesson plan, narration script, voice-over and finished video, plus technical records of how each video was made (timings, errors) so we can fix problems.
- A login cookie. One cookie that keeps you signed in. We don’t use advertising or analytics trackers.
How we use it
Only to run Armature for you: to make your videos, show them to you, keep your account secure, fix problems, improve how well Armature explains things, and email you about access to Armature if you joined the waitlist. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use your documents to train AI models.
Who helps us run Armature
To make a video, parts of your request are sent to these services, which process it for us:
| Service | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| AI model providers, reached through OpenRouter (currently mainly OpenAI and Anthropic models) | Your request, the text and images from your documents and links, and the lesson being made | To plan the lesson, write the animation and narration, and check the visuals |
| Fish Audio | The narration script | To generate the voice-over |
| Wikimedia Commons | Short image search terms about your topic (not your documents) | To find freely licensed pictures for a scene |
| Amazon Web Services (United States) | Everything above, on our servers | To run Armature |
| Cloudflare | Your videos and backups (storage), waitlist sign-ups and website traffic | To store and deliver videos, run this website and protect it |
| Only if you choose “Continue with Google” | To sign you in |
These services handle data under their own terms and privacy policies. Some AI providers may keep requests for a limited time, for example to detect abuse, before deleting them.
How long we keep it
- Your account, requests, documents and videos: until you delete them or your account.
- Working files on our video servers: deleted within about a day of a video finishing or failing.
- Database backups: 14 days, then deleted automatically.
- Waitlist sign-ups: until you ask us to remove you, or until the waitlist is no longer needed.
Your choices
- Delete a video from its page at any time.
- Delete your account with “Delete account” at the top of the app. This removes your account, your lessons and your videos; copies in backups disappear within 14 days.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, removal from the waitlist, or anything else: hiarmature@gmail.com.
Security
Passwords are stored only as hashes, the site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), the code we generate to draw videos runs without access to our keys, and access is invite-only during the beta. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects your data, we’ll tell you promptly.
Age
Armature is for people 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
