Codecast by Armature

Understand your code with a narrated video walkthrough.

Ask Claude Code or Codex to explain a repository, a pull request, a plan or the changes your agent just made. Codecast brings together selected code, diagrams and narration so you can follow both what changed and why it matters.

What can you ask it to explain?

Start with the question you would normally ask your coding agent. Your agent gathers the relevant context; Codecast turns that context into a visual explanation.

  • An unfamiliar repository: understand the main components and how a request moves through them.
  • Recent changes: walk through what your agent changed and the mechanism behind the fix.
  • A pull request: explain a local code comparison, with the relevant code and reasoning together.
  • A proposed plan: understand the design before building it, keeping proposed behavior distinct from implemented code.

How setup works

  1. Sign in to your Armature account and open the Codecast setup page.
  2. Copy the setup prompt into your coding agent, follow the installation steps and connect your account in the browser.
  3. Ask for a walkthrough. Your agent selects the relevant files and line ranges and submits the explanation request.
  4. Follow generation progress and watch the finished video. Compatible chat apps show an embedded player; other hosts provide a browser player link.

Codecast supports Claude Code and Codex on Mac and Linux. The setup page contains the current installation instructions. Read the Codecast guide for help getting started.

What context is sent?

The agent selects relevant code ranges and supplies explanatory context for the request. The collector does not automatically upload the entire repository. Sensitive-file and content filters provide an additional safeguard, not a guarantee that every secret will be detected. Review what you share and use only code you are authorized to send.

How is Codecast different from an Armature lesson?

Armature explains ideas, papers and other technical material through narrated visuals. Codecast applies that approach to your coding workflow, using the question and code context selected by your agent.

Explore Armature’s insertion sort explanation for a code-and-algorithm lesson, or browse the public visual lesson demos. These are Armature lessons, not recordings of Codecast setup.
